Watkins Glen, 20, 21, 22 April

Boston Chapter BMWCCA is hosting a three day event at the Glen

http://www.boston-bmwcca.org/events/...px?EventID=315

Couple of things....you don't need to drive a BMW; you don't even need to be a BMWCCA member for this event, I believe they're waiving the requirement for this event; and if you're a newbie there's also a significant discount (around $100.), so jump on it

If you've never been to the Glen, it's one of the original "Big Boy" tracks, about 3.5 miles around, and former home to the US Grand Prix. Only bad thing is that it'll spoil you for most any other circuit around!

If you really want to wear out your brake pads and Michelins, COM Sports Car Club is holding a High Performance Driving School and Time Trials at the Glen the following two days, April 23 & 24 (Monday and Tuesday).

http://www.comscc.org

Registration is open, and there are still openings.

If you have track experience and can demonstrate competence, you can probably get signed off to time trial at the school on Monday. Otherwise, you should probably limit yourself to just the school day.

I love the Glen, I'm signed up with the CVRPCA for OCt 22 and 23 and I'm doing at least one SCCA race there, in June. They repaved some of the corners last fall so it should be even better this year....

Anyone considering this event, The price is excellent compared to PCA and private driving schools. phredden do you know if there are opennings for outsiders? I'm tempted but would like the company of other Porsches.

Sure, anyone can come. No need to be a member, and we typically get a couple of P-Cars! My track car is a SpecE36, daily driver a Cayman normal. I might use the Cayman for a few local PCA events later in the season, but for now want to get as much seat time in the SpecE36 as possible. First race is first weekend in June at LRP.

I got a response from BMWCCA and there are plenty of openings. Just got to convince the wife now with such short notice.
