Cayman (non -S) 17" track tires?

I've been at 3 NASA HPDE4 events this year and am running some Kumho Ecsta Supra tires on the spare rims I bought from a former 993 owner. The tires might be good street tires, but they are NOT good tracks tires. I've asked Tire Rack and the answer is that there are not any properly sized "R" tires available presently and I'm not optomistic that there is a solution on the horizon.

So, are there any ideas what sizes in either Toyos or Nittos might be appropriate for more fun on the track, remember, 17".

lots of R compound sizes in 17s. just off the top of my head 255/40-17 toyo ra1 is a popular size used by evos, sti's, bmws. that would work on the rear of a caymen. 235/45-17s up front...

+1 on for the Toyo's. I use them on my 964 and will most likely switch to them on my Cayman very soon.

Unfortunately, TireRack doesn't carry the RA/1 - I have no idea why - they carry the other Toyo lines, but not the RA/1.
