The course was a much longer and faster course then previous events, going all the way to far end of the lot, almost to the fence. There was a lot of dust on the course, which the first group graciously cleaned off for the second run group. The course had a number of bumps and dips mid turn, which was certainly cause for fun.
The groups were small, so we had 10 runs, and then a bunch of fun runs. There were only 3 Caymans there, I believe.
Ken Jones (Boxster S) designed a great course. It was Candlestick, so some bumps are to be expected. The course had a fairly high average speed and flowed really well.
I was there driving my dad's 993. I'm really looking forward to trying out the Cayman after it's broken in. AX10 is a really tough class for a car on street tires.

Boy howdy it is, Greg!
Blue Blast - I wasn't able to come up for this one - the Las Vegas Region was having it's 2nd DE of the season out at Spring Mountain - the same course that will host the DE during Croctoberfest in - yes, you guessed it - October. Between running and instructing this last weekend, I probably did close to 100 laps on a 3.2 mile-long course. I think everyone who comes will find it a fun time.

For next year I'm thinking about proposing a 987S class. If 3 or more people agree to compete you can create your own class.
It would be open to any stock Cayman S or 2007 and later Boxster S (CS engine). While Boxster drivers could argue that their cars will be at a slight disadvantage, it wouldn't be nearly as bad as the existing rules that puts them up agaist modified 914s and 911s on Hoosiers.
I say (and you already knew I'd say this) do it! I'll back you. Another option would be to propose showroom stock classes, using Parade rules like now exist in Zone 7 events.
Greg - Did you know that because I entered the Zone 7 event at Altamont in showroom stock, that I took 3rd on PAX?

3rd in PAX and perfect instructor ratings. What's next, driving for Penske in an RS Syder?
I would vote to go to Parade rules entirely. The only proposals people are making now in GGR are specific to their car. Instead of trying to have classes where similar cars compete against each other, they're just trying to get their own car moved down a class.
