Track Video

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...&q=boxster

I don't know if I have ever shared that here before. Only my 2nd run ever in my old Boxster S so not the best of lap times in that video, but later in the day I was turning laps about 3 seconds faster than what is shown in the video. Chase car had 75 more HP than me, and the one hopped up Z28 that passed us had 120 more HP, but as you can see in the turns there is no contest.

Can't wait to put the Cayman S through its paces!

I use to race sportbikes there. Neat track. Some excellent driving on your part. Can't beat a mid-engine design with no top through the twisties...All that fun AND fresh air...

say, why not you drive your Cayman S, K-Man S and have your Boxster S as a chase car (someone else driving), to see the comparsion. My 2 cents.

Crazy - Because as I've stated before in other threads, I traded the Boxster S in on the Cayman S, so my dealer has the car, not me. It would be fun to do though.

Devo,
Actually I'm not too fond of that video other than as a training exercise for me in what NOT to do in several sections of the track. I was off-line at times and on the brakes too early at other times, but in my defense it was only the 2nd time around the track in that car and after a several month lay-off of no other track driving, that and I had the region's top driver with me as a passenger and we were talking different tips, etc. on our in-car helmet radios while I drove. I can also see that I push myself more when being pushed by a faster car so I need to get better at concentrating at times too, although I did think I did much better later that day and into the next day.

Heartland Park just underwent a complete overhaul. They tore up the old track and laid all new surface and new areas as well as new buildings and other goodies in the paddock area because it is now the home of the SCCA and their national run-offs, etc.I was going to take the car there this week for a track review but couldn't make it, so hopefully in the next couple of weeks I can.

I need to post the sign-up forms for the upcoming DE in April for those here who may be interested.

Yes, you missed some apexes, but overall it was solid driving. I didn't see the car upset at all in the video and the chase car was all over the road.

Glad to hear they are doing a remodel on the track. I used to hold my breath every time crossing the 'small bump' just outside the pit exit prior to the sweeping right hander. That was a dozen years ago, so I'm certain the characteristics are vastly different today.

That 911 Turbo near the end of that video was amazing. I guess that explains the price difference...

Great vidoe. What was the car filming you? He did a pretty good job of staying in there.
