Anyone else know about the Heigo Autotechnik bolt-in roll bar?
ObjectUser and I both have ordered one of the Heigo Bars from FVD-Brombacher-usa. $1100. Available either y or x braced. According to our research, it bolts to the rear shock towers and to the bottom of the seatbelt pillars. But, no one at Heigo speaks english so I had someone translate from German. ObjectUser had RUF confirm this information. I plan to use the roll bar with my TC design harness bar. ObjectUser ordered the optional bolt-on harness bar.

First time I have heard of it. Would be interested in your experience in installing it when you get it.
Remember, to attach anything to the rear strut towers you have to dismantle some of your interior and leave it dismantled while the bar/cage is in place.

As I understand it, just the plastic covers over the strut towers have to be cut-up or removed completely. If its removed, then the rear speakers come out with the plastic cover. I don't think there is anyway to install any roll bar without doing this.

I just talked to Mark in Technical support at FVD-Brombacher and he has discovered that the optional bolt-on harness bar is available for $185. But that it must be ordered when you order the roll bar and Heigo will pre-drill the rollbar for the harness bar in the front loop.
What is your understanding with respect to engine access -- top and front -- with the roll bar in place? I think this is the biggest design challenge, and perhaps the reason an "off-the-shelf" bolt-in bar has been so slow to market for this vehicle.
Also, what do you know about the finish of this bar? Painted? Powder coated? Color?

Here's Glenn's response from the other RollBar thread:

But I have seen some designs with a cross brace on the front loop that makes it impossible to access the FRONT engine cover. You will have to remove the entire bar or drop the engine just to replace a worn belt.

I was curious about that, because the pictures on their web site show the harness bar connecting the strut tower braces, rather than the main loop - which I suppose might provide a little more clearance for the seats?
