For Porsche to be competitve in ALMS GT2 they have to......

I can't believe no one has posted this gem from the February Excellence......

Page 120, in the ALMS article, last paragraph.

In talking about potential changes to the 911 to make it competive with the Ferrraris, the author writes

"............ while others say something more radical is in the works.......... As for my take? With every passing season, it's becoming increasingly obvious that a switch to a new, mid-engined GT is the way forward it Porsche wants to maintain its hard won reputation for excellence."

That's an interesting thought now, but what mid engined platform would be readily at hand? Probably needs 400hp or so from the factory to start with. Hum................. let's let the speculation begin.

Regards and Happy Holidays!

(Given the implied interpretation, I thought this may fit here in Cayman Competition vs an Off Topic.........................)

I was thinking the same thing. Just in case I did a search and found I was second to the race....

ALMS Recap - Peter Brock - Excellence

I didn't enjoy the article much, but that last paragraph made it all worth it.
