After one track day last year I'm hooked. My son gave me a pair of Piloti driving shoes for Christmas-- ain't he a gem!!
Now for a helmet for DE trackdays. Looks like G-Force helments are reasonably priced, with a SA2005 open face in the $150 range. Has anyone used this brand -- and is there a lot of difference between G-Force and Bell/Simpson and the $400 offerings??
I checked previous threads and this particular issue was not addressed... thanks for any feedback.

i also have an open face G Force helmet. It was intended to just get me through until a special order came through because its a heavier, but after using it in several events it worked out just fine and saved me $600 !
I have a G-Force SA2005 open face helmet and am very happy with it. I think that for DE/AX purposes, as long as the helmet is Snell certified, there isn't that much advantage to spending more $$ for some of the other brands.
I stuck some Porsche decals on mine (see pix) - got some compliments on the look at a PCA DE. If you order from Apex Performance , they throw in a nice helmet bag and cotton balaclava with the helmet (along with free ground shipping).

Awesome, I got a pair of Piloti driving shoes for Christmas too. I'm going to need to grab a helmet before my first DE in march and the G-force helmets at Apex look perfect for what I need. Thanks for the tip.
G-force helmets are made in China. Bell helmets are made in Illinois.
It is your Head inside your helmet. Use your own judgment.
Let's see . . . yep, works for me!
(but I do feel a little guilty about buying Chinese )

Have been using the G-Force helmets for several years now. Have purchased two. The only problem was a screw came out of the visor on one helmet and was promptly replaced by the retailer.

It isn't that "cut and dried".
The Pro and Ultra series are made in the US, but some of the Racer series are made in China.
The Bell Mag 4 appears to come from the same factory in China as the G-Force GF 750, but they charge $289 instead of $150. "Both" meet the SA2005 standard or better.
Everything is made in China. Look up what it takes to get "Made in USA" sticker.
Just cause something is made in US, it does not make it better. There are plenty of idiots here who can't even get GED. That is what SA rating is for. If it has the rating, it meets the standard. STOP BEING SUCH SNOBS! Hyundai makes as safe of cars as Mercedes. So this BS of not made in US got to stop!!!!
Gforce helmets are great. And if you have bigger head, they seem to cater to you.
