Thumbs up Track videos at Dubai Autodrome

Thought I'd share some videos taken at the Dubai Autodrome on various circuit formats. Data aquired from a PerformanceBox.

YouTube - Dubai Autodrome - Club Circuit at night - Part 1 / 2

YouTube - Dubai Autodrome - Club Circuit at night - Part 2 / 2

YouTube - Cayman S vs. Carrera S

Some more videos will be posted there soon, so subscribe to my channel to stay updated

Great Track Shots.....

What a Super (And Empty) Track........... Good Recordings with the Track Data Superimposed, and some Nice Driving Too........

Were you thinking about another sort of Driving (Were you wearing Golf Gloves to Drive in?).

This is my last recollection of Driving in Dubai..........

Hi there,

I think we met at the weekend - I had the GT Silver with the Cocoa interior. we compared tyre pressures and you showed me you 'gate' mark and the drift box sticker.

I had a great day but should have taken PSM off from the start - was much quicker without but left it too late to play with it.

Nice driving - the guy in the M5 is obviously a *******!

Looking forward to Feb 1 now that I have a much better idea on the TPs and how the car drives on track.

Btw - how did you find the 'open' night organised - as good as the Porsche club?

Okay, I'm very interested in how you produce your videos. First of all, I thought the PerformanceBox is mounted on the windshield (I didn't see it in the videos)?

How do you take the data and get it into the video insert, and where does the circuit diagram come from?

How do you get the telemetry insert into your video? What kind of editing software do you use to produce the final video (w/2 camera view, etc)?

Thanks, Andrew

Great clips Zuksh. Funny how the M5 was all over the place in the turns but was clearly pulling away in the straights. Nicely produced video, thanks for sharing.

Great videos. The only thing I like more than a 911 is seeing one passed by a Cayman.

Beautiful track, so flat and smooth. I couldn't believe all the cranes in the background, man there is some construction going on there.

Somethings I saw in the videos (didn't watch all of them), no heel/toe downshifts, you could here the motor rev and the back tires squeal entering some of the turns. Your using the motor to slow you down. I've been taught, "that's what the brakes are for".
It appeared to me and maybe some of the more seasoned trackers can comment but it looked like a lot of early apexs and your not using the whole track. Again, as I've been taught," your paying for the whole track, use it".
Your clearly pushing pretty hard but if you were to use a better "racing line" you could be much faster.

Just my 2 cents,

What is the track like, slippery at all? Any dust or sand on the track? It looked pretty clean from the video. I loved the telemetry superimposed in the video, nicely done. Unfortunately we are not allowed cameras or track acquisition devices in our cars in my local PCA DE events.

I'll be going back to Dubai (was just there in December) in March. I'm trying to get a group of my work colleagues together. If you get about 14 people - you can rent the track. I want to drive that bad boy!

Now if I could only pack my CS.
