Fire Extinguishers in CVR

CVR-PCA has announced that fire extinguishers will no longer be required for the green and yellow run groups. They seem to be following suit with the PCA locals around the country.
Well they have required it for the last two years so I obviously have one mounted in my car. I don't think I'll take it out now as I'm ready for the white run group, running yellow solo all last year.

I'm curious, did the stock factory Porsche extinguisher satisify the requirements for the last two year or did you have to get a metal bracket?

Pete, bracket or not I believe that the stock extinguisher does not meet the minimum 2.5lb requirement anyhow.

I bought the holder from Krause-Brey that holds the 2.5 lb extinguisher.
Brey-Krause Performance Driving Accessories For Porsche, Corvette, BMW, Ferrari, Trucks, and SUVs I bought the extinguisher from a local Porsche tuner shop.

I dont believe any beginer run group has ever had an issue that required one and besides
It is not a good idea for green students to try and use a fire ext anyway.

The factory fire ext does not meet the min requirements for any group running in the north east. If you are in a group where it isnt required you can leave it in
