DE, Porsche school vs Barber

I was just wondering if anyone been to both the Porsche High Performance Driving Course and the Skip Barber school. Which one do you think is better and would recommend for learning track skills. Thanks.

I did PSDS in Jan. Have not done Barber. PSDS was my first track experience. I had a great time. I was lucky to be in a fast run group so we got to go faster than I ever thought we would be allowed to in a beginner course. My only criticism would be that the instructors could not radio the other run groups on the track to pull over and there was no control tower or course workers to make the request either.

You spend 50% of your car time on the track (in 997 and some time in a 997S with PCCBs. I loved the track btw, a nice challenge compared to a flat course) and 50% doing AX, wet skidpad and other car drills in Cayman and Boxsters. I enjoyed it all. But some might expect more track time. I hope to go back for the Masters course.

If you want to know more about PSDS pm me or search Rennlist.com. I recall a very detailed post on there about PSDS.

I haven't been but I hear the Porsche school is pretty amazing. I'm going to the Lotus driving school in Vegas at the end of the month, pretty excited about that (it's also about 1/2 the cost of Porsche).

I'll be there on 4/1 & 2. Are you in that one? I thought I read in the Lotus forum that another CS owner would be there.

I'm also doing a one day Skip Barber Advanced Car Control at Road America in June. I'll report back here on how I liked them...

I have run the Peachstate's DE @ RD Atlanta and instructed since 1988.
This is a great venue to get good instruction at a well run and safe event. The 2.5 mile track is now under some minor course alterations. Our next event is June
