Craig,

I feel like my current OEM set-up that I have been running for 2.5 years lacks initial bite and feel, especially when cold (street driving).

Will Pagids Blue or Yellow help with either of those issues?

I currently have all OEM pads/disks, but race fluid and braided hoses. I run a hand-full of track days a year but the car is an every day driver (hence 40k miles in 2.5 years)

I don't care about squeal, unless it is going to be really excessive, but I would just like a little more feel and bite than I currently have. It's a sad day when I have to admit to liking the brake set-up on the RS4 better than my "Porsche-have-the-best-brakes-in-the-world" Cayman

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Jack

OEM does. Had a customer comapre it to "having blocks of wood for pads" ;-)

For your use - Blues. Yellows typically make a fair bit of noise -
Blues (Sports) will bring your brakes above the Audi level (an Audi....better feel than a Porsche...damn! We gotta fix this, man:-) )

Yellow represents the ultimate in braking performance, the top of the heap.

Long lasting, TOUGH pad, totally predictable each lap, easy on rotors, not corrosive as many other brands are, doesn't glob on the wheels as other brands. Exact pad compound as use at LeMans. 24 hrs Daytona. 12 hrs of Sebring. Squeaks on the street best changed out for track days.

Blues represent a good compromise.
Much less noise on the street than the Yellows, lighter dust than OEM, track worthy - more so than OEM, has a bonded anti-noise shim attached to the pad.

Okay. Thanks for the Yellow versus Blue; where's the orange fit in the lineup.

I realize now that I may have been confused on which "Blues" we're discussing. There are two Blues if I recall correctly, one is the "S", or Sport pad and then there is the 4-2 Blue (and the RS-5 Blue!). Yikes! Too many blues!

Anyway, I now realize that y'all are discussing the RS-4-2. In that case I completely agree with Craig; these are nothing like OEM.

There is a handy chart that compares the RS (racing) compounds here: Cantrell Motorsports - Pagid
