First Settlers Region PCA 3-day DE at VIR (full course) last weekend featured 11 Caymans (all S's) including 4 of us instructing. A great weekend and enjoyed meeting Maury (Amazin) and Jim (Mitchell) after corresponding with them in various threads here. Also enjoyed meeting Eric (Roe) and seeing his stripped-out heavily modded car, hanging with my friend Price (Gamecock) some more, and meeting a few others who haven't been active on Cayman Club.
Gave a lot of rides to folks who were eager to see what the car could do on track, and even got to drive an Aston Martin Vantage that Foreign Cars Italia had on hand. Topped it all off by turning a 2:17 lap during my last session! All in all a great weekend.

I was registered for it but had to back out due to other obligations . Maybe later this year or I'll catch First Settler's DE next year.

spindoc, I was there in the 2007 Meteor Gray #807. My first DE event so ran in the green group. Had a blast and learned a lot. Much improved by third day and able to pass most but the very best green drivers. The Cayman S was superb for a first track experience. I will definitely return. Tom

I had hoped that would be my first DE with my CS, but also had Memorial Day obligations. I hope to make one very soon!
To ease the hurt a bit, I was at VIR yesterday to run karts with some friends. I've certainly got a long way to go to really learn how to drive, but the karts are a great teaching tool. That was WAY too much fun and I'd highly recommend it to anyone in the area.

Bill (Spindoc) it was good to meet you and run with you in the red group!
For those who could not make it to VIR for that event, or anyone for that matter, Blue Ridge Region has DE coming up at CMP the weekend of June 14-15 that is undersubscribed so far, (Father's Day may be a factor) which will mean small run groups and more track time for those who can attend.
I have a boxster 987 that I want to track. Hoping the experts on this board can advise. I want to replace my OEM wheels/tires with a track worthy combo.
Is there a consensus among best wheel/tire size for track events (DE only)?
Thanks in advance. I realize this is a cayman site- but hoping for advice.

Since this thread is about VIR, perhaps starting your own thread would prompt a better response?
