I did my first DE with the PCA last weekend at RA. It was my fifth outing overall as I have been running my CS with the BMWCCA until now. The weekend went very well, I signed up for group 4/yellow because I was unsure where to start with this club. Friday was a novice only day, and the decision to go into 4 was looking like a bit of a mistake. My instructor and I agreed we would give it a try Saturday for one session and see about switching to 3. I found a 996 TT to run with for a couple sessions, and then there was a guy in a Boxster S who got pushed out of 3 because of harness rules. I couldnt quite catch him, I think he had MPSCs. There was also a 993 C4 in the group that was quite a good driver. So, there was enough to keep me entertained this time, and the traffic wasnt too bad, but I think I will sign up for 3/green next time. I also went for quite a few solo sessions on Saturday and Sunday.
My instructor was strongly recommending MPSCs as a streetable R-compound tire to get to the track with. I am running PS2s right now, and they were getting pretty greasy feeling later in each session. I was running 32 psi cold at each corner, was at ~42 by the time I got a first chance to park the car and check the pressure.

I too was at RA last weekend! I was in 379. It was my first outing of the year and my first time tracking the new car. I also decided to do the novice group on Friday. Were you in S1 or S2? I was S2. Road America is always a blast, but really favors the big HP cars. Since I had run RA twice last year my instructor signed off on me after two runs. I ran solo for the rest of the weekend.

I remember running the June Sprints in the 70s with my MGB's tach needle bouncing off its stop heading into the braking area for turn 5. What kind of speed are you Caymans seeing there?
Into turn 1 - 130 mph or so, braking to 75-80 - need to get more exit speed from 14, or carry more speed into 1. Sure felt like I was pushing it as far as my tires would let me in 1.
Into turn 5 - ~125, braking like hell to ~50
Into turn 12/canada - 125, braking to ~60 - I was a bit chicken in the kink (not chicken lifting though!), maybe hitting ~100-105 tops here. I definitely didnt want to push it too far in this corner.
In the carousel, ~80 was the best I thought I could do.
The corner that gives me fits is Turn 3 by the Corvette Corral. It looks so innocent and easy coming down into it, I end up no slowing enough. Practice, practice!
I am not about maximum speed anywhere on the track. I start letting out of the throttle at about 115-120 on the front straight. The only other place I take the time to look at the speedo is coming up to 5 where I start easing back at 110-115.
For some reason the Kink, Turn 11 does not bother me. I let off like I am supposed to, but I never look at the wall so I don't get intimidated. 13 and 13A is my favorite section. Especially the blind left up the hill.
Did you see the Carrera in group 4 with brake failure try to drive through the exit at Turn 5 at speed on Saturday? What a mess. Luckily I had exited the track a lap before that happened.

I was at RA last September and a guy parked near me in the paddock totaled his car in the kink. After that, I was a bit more cautious about that turn.
The brake failure guy was parked next to me in the paddock. Earlier in the day, he asked me about his brake pads. I thought they looked fairly low. He went over to the repair shop and asked them, and they said they looked fine, so he went back out. I wonder if the problem was pads or some other failure? My wife was sitting in the stands near turn 5 and saw the whole thing happen. She is not so enthusiastic about my hobby after seeing all these incidents.
