Angry Purple brake calipers

I have had two sets of calipers turn purple. Both after three day weekends including lapping day at both Road America & Mid-Ohio. Anyone else had this problem? Any thoughts?

What color were they to begin with (2.7 or 3.4?). My pads (Pagid Yellows) have turned purplish from the track, but my red calipers are still red.

Obviously sounds heat-related, however I haven't seen anyone else mention this issue . . . *shrug*

I wouldn't quite say that mine are purple, but they are most definitely discolored. I would have said a faded, darker red... Definitely due to heat.

My calipers have gone from bright red to a faded dull red. Definitely more pronouced on the front calipers. Entirely heat related. FWIW, the Mantis CS has seriously faded calipers. Not sure how they would get purple though...

Serious heat......

What pads?

Do you have additional cooling? (ie the $30 per side GT3 air guides)?
