Looks like I'm going to have my first wet track DE this weekend. Running stock 18" PS2's. I've been running 31-32psi cold to start, resulting in 38-39 psi hot.
Will the wet track cause less pressure rise? The same hot range best for the wet track?
I ran a DE at Pocono in late May. Ambient temperature was 52 degrees. The first session was cool, overcast, and dry. After the first session, I adjusted my hot temperatures to 38F and 39R. The next session was very wet, I did not change pressures and found the PS2s very good in the wet. The following morning I checked cold pressures and the fronts were about 32 and rears about 33.
Thanks, I'll be at Pocono as well. Hopefully it will be warmer than 52 lol I was there in April this year and it was a balmy 38 for the first session!!
Be thankful it's raining when taking PS2s to a track day in the summer, without the rain to cool the tires, temperatures get too hot and the tires will be in a downward curve with traction. High performance street tires like the PS2 are best in the cooler temperatures of the spring or fall. Take them to the track on a hot summer day and your times will be drastically slower.

Temperature of 38 to 52 is perfect for PS2's at the track, 80's are too hot.
It was dry & in the high 80's on Saturday. Started with my normal pressures 31/32 cold & came off with 37/38 hot. Tires did not feel unusually slippery as the day wore on. Maybe I'm just not fast enough to heat them up that much! lol I don't think that was the case though as no one in my group passed me and I lapped many of the cars.
Sunday was in the high 70's & I did have 2 wet runs. The street tires stuck very well in the wet. I actually enjoyed it. It gave me a chance to refine the line & smoothness of my driving.
That wet session was more of a monsoon during the green group session. The car and my Bridgestones held very well in the wet and even the instructor commented on that.
Having to run with the windows down, I expected the back hatch area would be soaked with water, but I guess no water gets in when you're running at extra-legal speeds!
Had one pucker moment when I watched the 997 C2 do a slow spin after his back end came out going from Long Pond straight into the south infield. Thankfully no damage was done and I saw the car back out on the track later.

Where in the poconos were you all? I presume this was run by pca? Give us a track report please! I was at Calabogie Motorsports Park this weekend w the Audiclub/BMWclub and all I can say is that the track is fantastic! Very challenging track to learn with a bunch of blind track in points, blind apexes, diminishing radius curves and a few off camber turns! I don't have enough miles on my Cayman S yet for such an event : ( I did get a ride w an instructor in his Cayman and all I can say is boy is that car planted!! We had a lot of rain on day one but things dried out as the day went on.

Your PS2's traction, on track, will diminish dramatically in the high 80's, when you drive in the instructor group.
The PS2's will be worn out several times over before I get to the instructors group! lol. When this set is worn out I'm going to replace them with PS2 AS & get a set of wheels & R comp tires for the track
