For those of you running Sport cups, are you using the 235 front and 265 rear or the 285 rear?
I have been running shaved RA1's in a 245/275 width for some time but want to try the michelin's...I am running 8.5"front and 10"rear wheels.

I use the 265s in the rear. From what I can tell, the next size up from the 265s in the 18" diameter is 285 - I've not seen 275s available. I use the 265s because I have an otherwise stock PASM suspension, so I stay with the 235s in front - larger than 265s in the rear will make my car push too much. With your coil-overs, you should be able to set the car up however you like.
I should add that I use the Cups on 8.5-f/9.5-r BBS RS-GT wheels.

PASM - Porsche Active Suspension Management
This active damping system offers continuous adjustment of individual damping forces based on current road conditions and driving style.
The driver can choose from two setup modes, ‘Normal’ and ‘Sport’, using a separate ‘damper’ button on the center console. ‘Normal’ mode is designed for general road driving and circuits with uneven tarmac. ‘Sport’ mode is intended for smoother track surfaces, where the harder settings help eliminate pitch and roll.
In either mode, PASM continuously evaluates the current conditions while automatically selecting the corresponding damper rates from the respective set of mapped values.
A range of sensors are used to monitor the movement of the body under acceleration, braking and cornering maneuvers, as well as on poor road surfaces. The PASM control unit then evaluates this data and modifies the damping force on each individual wheel in accordance with the selected mode. The result is a significant reduction in body movement as well as a better grip on the road.
For example: if ‘Sport’ mode is selected, the suspension is automatically set to a harder damper rating. If the quality of the track surface falls below a certain threshold, the system immediately changes to a softer rating within the ‘Sport’ setup range. When the quality of the tarmac improves once more, PASM automatically returns to the original, harder rating.

Chris: I agree with beez. I also use the 235 and 265 Cups, but on OEM CS rims. The 285/30 Cups should fit your 10" rims fine, but then you might have to do something about additional understeer (push).
The RA1 245 and 275 seem to be better sizes for your 8.5 and 10" rims, although I don't know if they will actually work (grip) any better than the 235 and 265 Cups.
You see, the RA1's are a great and pretty fast tire if I shave them but then they dont really last any longer that MSC's. I have the car set up really well for the RA1's at the moment but am having trouble finding more of them (they are pushing the R888's now) so i was going to try something new. The 265 rears are a bit undersized compared to stock and the 275's I'm running are a bit bigger (circumferance) so the ride height in the rear and the gearing will be a bit different...

The Toyo R888s come in the same 245 and 275 sizes as the RA1s you've been using, so they should work just as well, if not better. The R888 275/35 rears are .5" greater in diameter than the 265/35 Cups (25.7" versus 25.2"), so the R888s should maintain the same profile look and effective gearing as the RA1s have for you.
I appreciate your willingness to experiment, but, with your wheels and good setup with the RA1s, I think I'd try the R888s next.
I run the same setup as beez and if I thankfully have enough excess power to be able to throttle steer at ease, larger in the rear and I might start to push more too, then again I might get more power down as well. When my new track wheels come in I'll try some fatter rubber in the back and see...

I too have been using the 235 and 265 PS Cups on OE 18" wheels and have been very pleased with them. At the Parade I asked the Michelin reps if there was any possibility of 245 and 275 widths being available in the future. Unfortuately, they said no chance. The soon (?) to arrive RAC group buy wheels could use wider tires but may be OK with the 235/265 sizes.
One of the great advantages IMO to the Cups over all of the R rated tires, that I know of, is that they can be used on either side of the car to even wear. Since the outside front tire always wears faster, left front on the typical clockwise course, the ability to switch sides extends their life considerably without the expense of remounting.

Try these guys if you're having problems finding RA-1's:

BTW, I have a set of CS wheels with slightly worn MPSC's on them I'll let go for a reasonable fee. It was only driven by an older gentleman on Sundays...
J/K Maury !!
I don't know if this has been posted on this board but two members (Amazin aka Maury and Jim Michaels) did very well in the recent PCA Parade Autocross in Charlotte with Maury comming in first and I think Jim came in second.
A BIG CONGRATS GUYS !!!

Thanks Eddie. We had a thread on the Parade AX results earlier. The top S06 (Cayman S stock class) drivers participated in the thread, including the Stig (Greg), who drove all the way from CA with his dad to win the class by 2 seconds. Dad had to settle for 5th, but also won a trophy.
So I bought and installed the MPSC's and will be at the track Monday to Wednesday to try them out. I'll have my other set of RA1's for the rain if I need them. I hope that the lower profile in the rear does not mess up my very well (i.e. took a long time to do) suspension settings and ride height. Now the *** is a bit lower than wirh the RA1's...
I'll keep you posted.
The good news is that the slightly lower final drive (smaller circumference) will help me out of saome of the slower (mid rpm 3rd gear) corners!!

i think you'll like them. i found about 1 sec better on a 2 min, track over ra1. u need a lot of camber for mpsc i used 3.4 fr 3.0 rear IIRC.
they last as long as r888 trust me. r888 fall off way before any cording, unlike ra1. in cayman i got some times as good as my first few HCs on the 6th track day using them. i posted a review somewhere.
