Just wanted to share a few pics of the recent DE that we had up at Tremblant this past week. It was a great event with a good turn out and decent weather (we got rained out the afternoon of the 2nd day!)
I had just installed MpSC's last week and this was my first event on them and i have to say that I LOVE them. i dropped 2 seconds a lap (1:54 now) and am able to keep up with the fast guys in the red run group. So so driven GT3's are a breeze to pass and I was even able to keep up with a so so driven GT3 RSR (997) in the corners, despite his slicks. back straight is another story...and so is braking.
Anyway, here are some pics:

Nice! I can't wait to get back there in September with the Audi club I'm instructing with. what an awesome track that is. and so nice that it gets so little use.... 1:54's are some good times to be running (assuming full loop).

There are fast cars and there are fast drivers....Happniess isn't around the corner...IT IS the corner.....
Great pics! I was just there a couple of weeks ago with the North East Chapter, PCA, and had a blast. I have about 20 days there and LOVE it. IMHO this is the best circuit in the north east. The Glen is bigger, Mosport is faster, Calabogie is newer, but none have it all like Tremblant...perfect condition, safe, long, lots of elevation changes, and surrounded by literally unlimited things to do and incredibly beautiful moutains everywhere. Most folks bring their family and everyone has a blast. And the food? OMG! Dozens of world class French, Italian, Swiss restaurants to die for, they're everywhere, competing viciously.
BTW, if anyone can get out there (good news it's a weekend event!) the Boston Chapter of the BMWCCA has an event there in August (9-10), with instructors and advanced also getting a full day to themselves on the 8th. Yes, you can bring your PCar, there's no vehicle screening whatsoever.
It's still open (until 3 August), here's the link:
Here's a hint/suggestion if this is your first time, or even if you're a Tremblant veteran....stay away from the "Cartoon Village"...the one at the base of the ski resort. It's a rip off, it's noisey, it's crowded, and it's owned by InterWest (who are building and selling cheesy condos all over the mountain) and are leading a campaign to close the track...as you can hear it from the mountain sometimes. Meanwhile, dozens of independent B&Bs (such as http://www.crystal-inn.com/) are owned and operated by locals who want to keep the track as they get a lot of business from it. Plus, you'll save money and be that much closer to the real restaurants in the area (NOT at the mountain) which are dramatically better.

We use the full track all the time unless there is major rain in which case we use the short track.
I have literally hundreds of days there over the years, even on the old track! I had been running consistently in the 1:56's on my RA1's but could not get much faster than that. yesterday was a low 1:54 and I think there is more to come. I do my best work when I have a good rabbit to chase or am being chased by a faster car.

Wow, nice! I'd move there in a heartbeat if I could figure out a way to make a living....
The fast GT3s (club racers) and a few home-builts (911-RS-whanabees) were in 1:52-land on Hoosiers, so you're right in the hunt, my friend. My J Prepared BMW 2.8 litre (230 crank) was steady at high 1:57s, whereas the class leaders (built motors, etc.) were hitting mid to upper 1:52s, which was discouraging to say the least! That pushed me over the edge into a spec class (192 crank) starting last year. Now the class record is barely 2:00...but we're all the same and saving a TON of dough! I will admit, thou, it's tough getting into a slower class....

I did an event last year at MT, what a beautiful track and what a well hidden secret. We could hear cars on the track and drove around the area for over an hour but could not find the entrance. Finally we spotted a Skip Barber truck in town and followed them into the track. There wasn't a single sign giving directions. I tried to buy a t shirt while there and was told by a track official that they don't market the track like that. The best I could do was buy a t shirt at the lodge we were staying at for the town on Mont Treblant.
I spun once in turn 1 and ended up in the pit out lane but never hit anything. I would have bought one of Skippys formula cars if I did.
I was there on July 10-11 with the bimmer gang and it was my first time there. Gorgeous track, very well maintained. I agree 100% with phredden about the village. I had my first dinner in the "cartoon village", and decided not to eat there anymore. For the rest of the time, I just drove around the old village and try out the restaurants there. And yes, they are much much better.
I like Tremblant so much and I am going back again in Aug with Rennsport. Looking forward to meet you Chris, and hopefully I can get some "go fast" pointer from you.

Great photos from Mont Tremblant. I see you bought Pierre's photo package. Me, too. I have one passing a GT3 coming out of turn 5 during the July 7-9 NER event in my Blue '06 S. I'm not in your league, however, as I'm in the White run group. I was pleased to break into a 2:01 with my stock car on PS2s. Maybe next year I can learn to run turns 1-5 a bit faster. I know there is at least a second to be found there. Wlm50
Glad to hear you are happy with your new set up Chris. Sorry I missed hooking up with you at the event. I had car issues. I was really looking forward to doing a Sampler session with you and having you join me for a run or two.
I can't make Tremblant in Aug either but not for quite as an exciting reason as you. Congratulations! I'm booked for Calabogie and I will try to book Tremblant in Sept if there is space for me in Green. Hopefully the stars will finally align for me and I get to run Tremblant dry for more than 3 laps. I am so keen to learn it and improve.
