I was all over turbocharged S2000's, modded WRX's, an Audi S4, BMW M3's and even a 997s.
The track was wet and there was eff all grip. An Elise hit a puddle, hydroplaned and came out the other side at a different direction than he went in and slammed into a wall. He was totalled.
My Cs was the most fun I have ever had at the track. I went sideways round so many corners! I spent this morning gently trying to get the rubber off my car that was raining at me cos I was mere feet away from cars in front and pushing hard. You all have to try this, the car comes alive when it hits the track.
you were driving in the wet? Great to hear that those tires work well. Poor Elise, and driver. The Elise got a terrible death, hope the driver is ok. Maybe it was symbolism to show that your CS was superior (ok, now I kno I'm gettin' 2 much English work if I'm writin' about symbolism here, lol)
Maybe next time you bring a camera and mount it to the dash?...
It was California Speedway's inside track(the track is inside the oval) and it was with SpeedVentures.
I ran a 1:21 which was good but this was my first time in this car at a track so I can only get more comfortable with the car(I started the day with a best lap of 1:31). I opted out of driving in the pouring rain but the track had huge puddles all day long and it was a blast. Rooster Tails from everybody. You couldn't get TOO close cos you'd get blinded till later in the day when the water was run off the track.
This active damping system offers continuous adjustment of individual damping forces based on current road conditions and driving style.
The driver can choose from two setup modes, ‘Normal’ and ‘Sport’, using a separate ‘damper’ button on the center console. ‘Normal’ mode is designed for general road driving and circuits with uneven tarmac. ‘Sport’ mode is intended for smoother track surfaces, where the harder settings help eliminate pitch and roll.
In either mode, PASM continuously evaluates the current conditions while automatically selecting the corresponding damper rates from the respective set of mapped values.
A range of sensors are used to monitor the movement of the body under acceleration, braking and cornering maneuvers, as well as on poor road surfaces. The PASM control unit then evaluates this data and modifies the damping force on each individual wheel in accordance with the selected mode. The result is a significant reduction in body movement as well as a better grip on the road.
For example: if ‘Sport’ mode is selected, the suspension is automatically set to a harder damper rating. If the quality of the track surface falls below a certain threshold, the system immediately changes to a softer rating within the ‘Sport’ setup range. When the quality of the tarmac improves once more, PASM automatically returns to the original, harder rating.

Sport Chrono and Chrono Plus
This optional package is a valuable addition for trackday use. Available in conjunction with the CDR-24 CD radio, it includes a swivel-mounted analog and digital timer unit which is centrally located on the dashboard. All functions are easily accessible via the control stalk for the on-board computer. Analog dials measure hours, minutes and seconds, while a separate digital field displays whole seconds, tenths and one hundredths of a second. A second digital display runs in parallel in the instrument cluster. Click this Link to visit the FAQ entry for Sport Chrono.
Ran Mine yesterday as well. All I have to say is 'WOW & YAHOO' This car makes even an average driver look good. The car never felt unsettled even with a bad line. Acceleration was great even with Tip, carrying a passenger and taking it easy (only 1400 miles on the car so I used a 6000 rpm redline). Top speed at end of straight was 119 with passenger.
Here are a couple of pics. The 05 GTO & M3 fell well behind on the twisty parts.
I hit the rev limiter a few times, nothing exciting to report, exactly what you expect to happen in that situation happens and you shuffle up a gear. At least you know your pushing it. Sport Chrono rocks!

Sport chrono rocks because it sharpens the throttle response by about 10-15% and makes the car feel much more immeadiate and aggressive. I have used it on the street and its hard to really feel the difference but on a track its absolutely invaluable. I didn't use the stopwatch aspect of the Sport Chrono just the sport button and it was worth every penny.
