Timed observations

60 MPH - 100 MPH: 7.93 seconds (3rd gear).

I did several SC on / off 5-60 MPH runs to see if there's a difference. I did not record enough for statistical signficance, maybe tomorrow I'll have enough time to take 30 samples each. I did 4 and there was about a 0.1 seconds faster with the SC on, but again - not statistically significant. I hope to do the same with the deflector plate in place as well.

I may have to up it to 10-60 MPH as well, due to the engine loping at 5 MPH.

I tried several 0-60 MPH but it was just too difficult to start timing and do a controlled launch.

@ devo:

please post your results, especially 0-60 (0-62 would be better, but hey...)

How do you launch: whatr rpm do you drop the clutch?

In order to get repeatable data, I've decided to do 5-60 mph. This will reduce the measurement error signficantly as it is very tough to launch and start the clock after you start moving and allows for too much measurement error (MSA). Also, it is vastly easier on my clutch.

My 0-60 MPH runs were done by slipping the clutch at 3500 (which is about 1500 rpms too low). I was still bogging. My best run was 5.31 sec.

I ran a few night 60-100 mph as well (20 degrees cooler) and my best time was 7.48 Seconds, a full half-second faster than in the 92 degree heat...

My car is getting faster....

I'm not sure what it is that has caused it (de-snork? clear side markers? better driving?), but I can 'feel' the difference as well. I'm at 1200 miles and suspect it may be loosening up some. I'm not sure how the ECU functions, but maybe if it is adjusting A/F or timing based on the de-snork mod? Ken, do you know how it 'adapts'?

I'm now running very consistent 0-60 MPH times of 4.6x - 4.7x. Drop the clutch at 4500, with 1-2 shift at 6600 RPM. My best run is 4.63 seconds. I've dropped my average times by almost afull second. I was running 5.5x with a best pass of 5.31.

My 60-100 times in 3rd were 7.7 - 7.9 seconds. I ran 3 runs this evening at 6.6 - 6.7 seconds. Those times have very small MSA or driver variability, so are pretty reliable. Those are the runs that really have me puzzled. A full second with very little timing error is a 15% improvement.

Disclaimer: please take my numbers as relative performance, nothing I'd consider statistically significant, especially since there's MSA and driver variability in the timing on the 0-60 runs. Tire pressure has been identical. All runs with SC on.

Wow, we all know this croc has hidden ponnies somewhere, but thats amazing! True some car losens up a bit over time, but we really need to know if that mod is the real cause. Times you mention are brutal, much more than 0.1 sec someone mentioned that possibly an extra 13HP gain would give. Am I missing something? Well done DEVO.........COCO MUY RAPIDO
