my car was the one with a 1/2 roll cage built in and posted on rennlist. many ppl on cayman club has asked me where to get it. unfortunately it's a very very very tight fit and my custom fabricator will not do it unless the car is delivered to his shop (can't pre fabricate it). however, he just made this new harness bar design that can be shipped and DIY installed. it's very oem looking and powder coated just like mine. here are some pix for those who are insane like myself.
personally i would never use 4 pt harness, you may submarine under the dash.
i like 5 or 6pt, i use schroth, though willen, sparco, and others makes good stuff too. i am partial to shroth. if you go to the tcdesignfab.com site and look for GT3's, you will see my and my friends harness set up.

as mentioned before, the only problem with this harness bar is that it is only supported at the b pillar, and there are no guide loops for the harness, with the seats as they are it seems easy for the harness to fall off to the sides. I see that there is a little weld ring, is that enough.
one should NOT use harness with oem seat, you NEED racing shell seats for proper harness use. the pic on the link was taken literally minutes after bar was installed. the car's owner will soon have proper seat put in.

Well if someone would please show me someplace to buy the new GT3 seats I would be happy...
The operative word is 'new' GT3 seats, those are the older ones. The new ones are lighter and better looking IMHO... BTW my harness bar is now installed, going to do an article write-up in the next day or two.
