handicapping a Cayman S

My local Porsche Club is running a track day on 11 June. We will have a Cayman S on track at either this meeting or the next.

Could anyone give me some guidance concerning provisional handicapping of a base manual Cayman S on road tyres as a % of other stock Porsches?

For example (and I appreciate that these things sort themselves out over time) would it be reasonable, at least initially, to handicap a Cayman S at 95% of a Boxster S, 105% of a Carreraand 110% of a Cayman S?

Obviously an adjustment will be required to account for track tyres, PASM,SC etc

Thanks guys - this could be useful information for our sprint director.

This is obviously tough to do without historical data. A starting point might be SCCA's (in the US) PAX multipliers.

For example the CS is Super Stock (SS); where as the Boxster is in A Stock (AS), and 911 GT3 is in A Street Prepared (ASP) even in stock form.

PAX factors: http://www.rgrscca.org/2005pax.htm

Car classes per make: http://www.moutons.org/sccasolo/List...m.html#Porsche

Cheers,

Actually, the SCCA classing for Porsches is probably not a useful guide. The 05+ Boxster S, Cayman S, and GT3 are all in Super Stock class for 2006. The Golden Gate Region of the PCA has a classing system for autocross and timetrials (track events) and a PAX system which separates Porsches into finer catagories http://www.pca-ggr.org/.
