It is so far, the 2006er edition of the 24h of running on the Nürburgring stands before the door. As in the news apart from our winner car is already announced to well-known 996 GT3 R reconstruction on basis of the Cayman S, expected of 2005 also ours with tension, to be presented there. We planned with this project correctly much. Naturally according to experience a complete reconstruction can (and this Cayman R-S is really singular!) already times smaller Wehwehchen has however the MSpeed team is motivated full and sees the chance for the future a correct direct hit landing also here. It applies to deny now only once the 24h running and collect and evaluate as much as possible driving impressions, in order to become in the future fair the potential of the vehicle. We are already correctly strained and are pleased the customers and fans of the mark MSpeed here still many interesting details and naturally also successes (thumbs press!) admits to give. Continuation follows .............

Unfortunately our large efforts for the 2006er did not disburse themselves a running after successes of 2005. Our Cayman R-S could work itself within the first three rounds of starting point 15 up to place 10 forward. Starting driver Norbert Fischer was unfortunately thrown by an accident with strong damages in the front and tail range from running. Our no good training had unfortunately completed and had 996 GT3 R after the start laboriously by the field to work itself. In the meantime at place 29 fought we were forward thrown by a tire damage again back, before a further accident meant from also for this vehicle. Naturally a sad weekend for the MSpeed crew, after all the efforts and hopes in the apron. Our thanks apply for the team and the drivers - we are to be able to attack surely in 2007 again fully. The fans will again see our new Cayman R-S shortly with the long-distance cup. We return, no question .............

The first Rollout for the MSpeed Cayman R-S took place directly under qualification stress. The blue signal light so important for the further process could with 15. Place in time training become secured. Quite considerably for the first employment of the vehicle with so a strong starter field. That lets hope for running for more. 24 hours are an eternity - straight for such a new vehicle project - thumb pressures are announced ...........

I wonder how long it took to make that body kit??? Sounds like they are doing well with the car, would be interesting to see some of their race results.

If you read the latest Panorama magazine there is speculation from their European editor that Porsche will be racing the Cayman soon as a patent was applied for, for what looked like a race Cayman, as well as it would make sense to drop a bigger engine in the Cayman to run down the Panoz and F430's that are currently eating up the 996 GT3 RSRs. In the near term it will be the 997 GT3 RSR's but after that the Cayman in race form make a lot of sense.
