Does anyone have any experience with the Simpson Racing Diamondback helmet? How about the hjc AC-12 (Carbon Fiber)? I know the Simpson is as2005 rated and the HJC is only m2005 rated. I plan on going to HPDE events, but I doubt I'll enter any races anytime soon. I'm looking for something that will be comfortable for those events. I've tried the HJC on and it is very comfortable and light. I can't find the Simpson anywhere to try it on. Any thoughts on the two? The Simpson is about 100 more than the AC-12. Is the Simpson worth the risk (of ordering and returning)?

SA rating is more than just the fire proof interior. It is also designed, as I understand, for a different impact scenario than an M rated helmet, i.e., it is designed for automotive use. Whatever you get, if it was me, I'd go for an SA rated helmet.

If you're going to run in any Porsche sanctioned event you must have an SA rated helmet. M rated helmets are not approved even for d/e events. Both my son and I have Impact helmets. This is Bill Simpsons new company. I have no complaints.
