Many of you have asked us about headers this year. When we built our Cayman S racecar in January there were very slim pickings in the header department. Ernie looked at designing and building his own but time was running short and we decided to opt for Boxter S headers and adapt them to our Cayman S.
This solution, although better than the stock exhaust, is not ideal and we have continued to discuss and plan replacements for the headers on our car. We now have a set of
FabSpeed’s in our shop and are impressed with the quality of manufacture and design.
FabSpeed has TIG welded these stainless steel headers; they have also incorporated a proper collector (3 into 1) maintaining equal length primaries.

I have photographed a set of stock Cayman S headers with our new
FabSpeed units. The differences are obvious and we hope the performance to be as well. We are expecting to increase performance at the top end and will need this when we battle our turbo-charged competitors at Daytona in October.
