one on Monday with Porsche Club DE the other on Friday with a local driving club, at the same track, NHIS.
Needless to say I am like a teenager on his first date.
I just had the tech. inspection done, have accumulated over 1000 miles on the odometer, installed my Carnewall racing pedals, set up a video-camera mount and de-snorked.
I have done the Skip Barber 3 day racing course and their car control clinic, thus I feel pretty confident, but is there anything else I should do in order the get the most out of my newly acquired Cayman S on the track?
My only advice would be to start slow and work your way up to speed - even with 1000 miles on the clock, you've still had relatively little seat time in the car, certainly none at speed. And, while the car handles very well, it will still not overcome the laws of physics... learn where those laws apply to this car... no substitute for lots of seat of the pants time. My $.02
Be safe and have fun

Rod - Yes, I did the two-day course at Sebring in 2001, and the two-day 'masters' course at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham AL, in 2003... both were a lot of fun, and you learn a lot. The instructors are great and they bring in the big guns for the masters course, where we had Hurley Haywood, David Murry and Doc Bundy as well as some lesser known, but very good instructors. If you have the money, I would highly recommend it.
The Barber track is really cool, very challenging - Hurley calls it the most challenging in N. America - extremely smooth (word is the owner had it torn up and totally repaved a second time because it wasn't smooth enough when it was first constructed) and the grip in the track is phenomenal. That said, it's a shame they don't have it at Sebring anymore... driving a Porsche at speed on Sebring is an experience not to be missed.
The experience is really great too. They treat you like royalty, and let everyone progress at their own speed, so it's fun for people who have little or no track experience. An extra added bonus for me was I had dinner with Hurley at a little Italian place he knew of in Birmingham after the last day of the course. Just the two of us, and it was a true highlight. A great, unassuming guy, who was as interested in me as I was in him - and it was honest, he wasn't just shining me on - we had a three hour dinner and a nightcap afterwards back at the hotel with Doc...

brad - wow. I once shared a commercial flight to Brazil with Emerson Fittipaldi as my seat mate and the entire flight was filled with conversation as much about me as him. And as much about racing as his precious orange groves. Some foks are just nice.
paolo - three track events: NHIS last test day of the season is the 19th. Cars all day long...
the only pointers I have for the track is don't try to learn the whole thing at once, especially the back section. Pick a corner and learn it well, then move to the next one. and keep your eyes out of your mirrors going into turn 2 or you'll end up in the tirewall...
