Visit to First DE of the year in Texas

Mad Eric and I journeyed from the Dell diamond in Round Rock, TX to Texas World Speedway in College Station to visit Cayman brethren at the DE there today. Happened to join forces with skup who drove up from Houston and recruit a couple of new club members as well. Met joshb1, rlm328 and fellow Austinite, yz250, who were all driving in the DE. There were a dozen Caymans there, perhaps more. See photos of the Cayman lineup.

It was a great DE event and Papa was a great leader in organizing the photo. It was really cool seeing all those caymans in one place. I have some photos I will update to the library in the next couple days.

Thanks Papa. I've spent many a hour (should read dollars) driving Porsches there back when. I usually wanted to buy something to make me go faster or fix something I broke after those events. Porsches (and all cars) are better built now.

The cars are great but the fellowship is even better.

So what was the reaction of the other participants to have so many Caymans show up? Who are the new recruits for the site? Welcome to them if I have missed their arrival! Looks like lots of fun, please set up a category in the Cayman Events section of the gallery and upload all your pics there!

Looks like fun.

I was up there on Saturday for a couple of hours, took the parade laps and was able to chat it up with all sorts of Porsche fans.

It was a great afternoon - but cold!! I mean, come on, I am from TX after all...

we took the pictures in the "back corner" because that's where a couple of the guys were parked. Reaction was "very impressed" with the lineup from what I could tell although not that many people saw all of the cars lined up. The ones who did were certainly gawking. New recruits, don't know if they joined but Dave B (Carmon Red) said he would. He lives in Dallas area but his daughter lives in Houston and she has a Lapis Blue Cayman. Also, the guy ( didn't get his name) driving one of the seal gray Caymans said he'd check it out. There was a girl there (think she was an instructor) with another seal gray but when I invited her to join our photo lineup, she declined.

After checking out this past event, I decided to sign up for the Driver's Edge event at TWS for March 3-4. Anyone else going to attend?

Have you actually signed up yet? I heard it was full...
