Hello everyone, I tried searching a few minutes and could not find any threads or post on air conditioning problems, but I admit, I need more cooling. I live in NC. and today at 83 degrees I lowered the temp slide over to the left and the air coming out did not seem that cool. Compaired to my wifes Lexus or my BMW X5 the air is not cool. Yes, the compressor display is on and after maybe 15 minutes of driving things were comfortable but now I'm a little worried about summer time at 90-95 degrees or higher...Would like some input please other than what I plan on doing which is stopping by the dealer to get the temp checked. Appreciate your help.
I was one of those who doubted the AC was going to work with a mid-engined car. Well I was wrong. It works great so expect it to be cool. Do you have the auto A/C? (by the way there are several topics on this like Air Conditioning in 107F weather don't know why your search did not turn them up). There have been a couple of problems as well that are in the complaints section that your search should have turned up if you look hard enough. A quick search found A/C cold air fading to warmer
Our east Texas weather is like yours, and the Cayman's AC will flat freeze me out of the front seat! I like temps approaching meat locker cold , and it will do it....not to worry! If not, have your dealer take a look.
I had a cooling problem. The system had an O ring crooked on a seal and it was loosing refrigerant. Once they fixed it the AC works great. 83 F would be mid morning here, it gets much hotter than that. Have it checked at the dealer.
jsdone: I'm the one who started the second A/C link that Santa Fe gave. You can buy an A/C duct thermometer at most car parts places to stick in the duct to see what air temperature the A/C is putting out. After the re-charge, mine is plenty cold.
I live in Florida and have driven in 90 plus degrees. The AC blows hard and cold. I have to lower fan speed and raise temperature after a while. I do have the rear screen but my windows are not tinted. As you can see, my car has a dark color also.
My AC stopped blowing cold air 30 days into ownership. The dealer couldn't find a leak, added refrigerant and dye to aid in troubleshooting if it recurs.

Florida owner here too (90F+ summers). I have no tint and black interior. The a/c blows cold almost immediately after startup and after a few miles it is almost uncomfortably cold.
It is certainly one of the most effective car a/c's I've owned.
On my way back to Las Vegas from the Porsche parade in San Diego, the temperatures - once I got out into the desert - were everywhere from 95 to way over 100. Near Baker, it was 117... I have the auto climate control and the temperature never wavered from the 70 degrees I had set on the controls... I've driven the car in temps over 100 degrees many times, and the cabin is always cool and comfy...

I too drove across the desert to get home from Parade, and had no issues with my non-ACC A/C system. It was not as hot as when I drove out to Parade (about 113 in Phoenix on 6/30), but again, the system had no trouble keeping up.
I will say that I left the temp at its minimum setting, and simply adjusted the fan speed to match the system capacity to the ambient load. Once the outside temp dropped a bit, I did raise the temp control a couple notches.
One observation, which I suppose should be obvious, is that the system will cool the cabin a lot quicker when the recirc button is on. The temperature exiting the diffusers drops a ton when the system can work with pre-cooled cabin air, rather than >100 degree outside air.

I thought about you on that hot drive back to Vegas and I am glad to get your cool report.
