I left the car sitting only for 5 days and went to start it and nothing, called 1-800-PORSCHE, they came and tried to give it a jump (all this occured after I went through the manual front lid popping nonsense) and still the car wouldn't start. Had it towed to Neilo Porsche and they confirmed completely dead battery, dead cell in it after only 4 months of ownership. And no, I didn't leave anything on in the car, just a plain bad battery. Anyone have that happen with such a short time of ownership?
Ccounts, I havn't had it happen; but I was wondering what came out of your PSM error problem? Perhaps it was related to this battery issue...
PSM - Porsche Stability Management
While it can’t overcome the laws of physics, the revolutionary Porsche Stability Management (PSM) system does lend an added degree of balance and control to the Cayman’s mid-engine driving dynamics, inspiring surefooted confidence in corners and extreme situations.
A standard feature on the Cayman and Cayman S, PSM continuously monitors steering input, road speed, yaw velocity and lateral acceleration to calculate the actual direction of travel. If the car begins to steer off line, PSM instantly intervenes with precision brake inputs on individual wheels to help bring the car back onto the driver’s intended path.
If braking alone isn’t enough to correct the vehicle’s cornering line, PSM then calls on the Cayman’s engine management system, adjusting engine output as needed to help stabilize handling. PSM can also compensate in an instant for mid-corner changes in load resulting from deceleration or braking. When Sport mode is selected with the optional Sport Chrono Package, PSM’s threshold for intervention is raised, allowing for greater driver involvement. If you prefer driving without automatic PSM assistance, the system can be set to standby at any time. In this case, it will only intervene under heavy braking, where both front wheels exceed the ABS threshold.
For all of its technical ability, PSM goes virtually unnoticed in everyday driving situations, preserving the Cayman’s natural agility.
Mine is a weekend car as well hope I dont run into the same problems. I have a trickle charger for my Jetta (they have these when they sit in port) was given to me from a friend at VW dealer. It plugs into the lighter and has suction cups to stick it on the window, has a solar panel. Not sure how effective this really is since my car is in my garage all the time. He has a few lying around if anyone is interested I'm sure they are inexpensive.

I don't think it had to do with it but I'll let you know when I get the car back today. They said the battery was just plain bad, had a dead cell so they replaced it for no extra cost.
I just researched this thread. My CS just got off the boat and into my hands on Saturday. Today (Wednesday) the battery is dead--or so it appears. I am currently awaiting the flatbed and will let you know how it turns out. Where is Porsche buying these batteries?!

MJP27 - So sorry to hear you're having issues so soon. Please keep us posted. Hopefully she'll be back to you in no time and as good as new.
