Cayman Passenger Window not fully down

New Porsche owner; just received delivery of my new 2007 Cayman. Driven it for about 100 miles so far. Only problem I noticed so far is that the passenger window doesn't go down all the way. About 1/2 inch still sticks out of the passenger door. Driver side goes down all the way. Will bring it back to the dealer, but is this a problem or is there something on the passenger side that prevents it from going all the way down and is normal? Thanks.

Maybe one of the assembly line workers left their thermos inside the door after lunch break. Oh right... they're built in Finalnd... it might be a bottle of vodka.

Of course I'm kidding... this only happens in GM plants.

needs recalibration. There is a procedure for this. If not in manual need to go to dealer.

Actually, it does happen at Porsche plants too. I saw an episode of Unique Whips on the Speed channel where they were working on a Cayenne Turbo and found a hammer in a compartment in front of the firewall.

This happened to my Cayman once and it had to do with the window drop when you go to open the door - I noticed that it thought that it needed to go up when the door was shut AFTER the window was all of the way down...does that make sense - I just rolled the window all of the way up and then back down again using the auto down switch and it went all of the way down...it was an easy fix but I did notice just the same issue...has not done it again.

This happens to me from time to time. I'm not quite sure what the reason is - but doing what you did solves the problem. I've had my car since last October with about 6,500 miles and I'd say that this has happened two or three times. I haven't gotten around to asking anyone here on the forums about it - nor have i brought it up to the dealer.

Porshe said I can try to initialize the system as follows:
1. Open both windows all the way by pressing on both window switches at the same time.
2. Close both windows all the way by pressing up on both window switches.
3. Passenger window may/will go only halfway. If so, press switch again to close the window all the way.
4. Turn keys off, then on. (System initialized)
5. Open driver window all the way.
6. For the finale, open the passenger window (say a prayer first!).
Hopefully, the above steps will fix the issue. I'll try it tonight!

Did you by any chance look here? Windows won't go up

Might be some other issues if the procedure and prayer don't work. Please report back.

Also tried reset procedure a few times without success. I went to a dealer, and it looks like they needto have a closer look at it. Will report back next week. Thanks everyone for your input.

Dealer repaired the problem. A window stop was lowered to allow the window to go down some more. Required temp removal of the door handle, speakers, panel, etc.
