Key fob, yeh I forgot to mention that and the key should be plastic coated or flip out like Audi. You really have to be carefull holding the key while opening doors or the like as the metal shaft is like weilding a sword almost.
a) Driver Door rattles, sounds like the window inside the drivers door is loose, had it fixed once tho came back worse.
b) My brakes always squeal when warm and lightly applied, sounds like i'm driving some old banger with no brake pads left tho there's still 50% of the pads left!
c) The AC gets very noisey intermitently when stationary.
d) Key fob buttons are too loose, if i'm near the car, like at a friends house, with the car outside, i'll come outside to find the windows down, the front and rear boot open.
Apart from the above the car is AMAZING and I couldnt live without it!
well they've had 4 tries at it already. ok, the trunk clunk has been fixed, but i have incessant chirping noises at both b-pillars. doesn't anyone else have this?
my car also has a lot of lifter noise. clackety-clack. er... more like tick, tick, tick. anyone else?
I had the same chirp / tick noise around my b piler and when I took it to the dealer, they fixed it first try (so far) and the explaination of what they did was adjust the window right behind/above the seatbeat anchor. Maybe this will work for you.
I have had my CS for 2 months and I have taken it in twice for noises. Once for the above mentioned noise and once for a creak in the drivers door. Both fixed the first go 'round with service. Not a big deal, but for a $65K+ vehicle, that shouldn't happen. That, and the key fob would be my only compalint.
b) My brakes always squeal when warm and lightly applied, sounds like i'm driving some old banger with no brake pads left tho there's still 50% of the pads left
I have this issue too, but I've told myself, "Why are you bothering to slow down?" When I apply the brakes with force they do not squeal. I suppose I should knock on wood as my only nagging "sound" issue was the rear hatch clunk that I now just accept. I also think the standard steering wheel is kinda whimpy. The XPP should be the standard wheel.
I don't know about you guys but i have a problem with the "blindspot".
Also as others mentioned, skinny sport steering wheel, xenons not standard and no ipod connection......and the rattles, but that is part and parcel with owning a hatchback.
BTW, i find it a problem driving the Cayman without tint because it feels as if i'm driving in a fishbowl...garners far too much attention and i don't like everyone looking at me.
The blindspot is bad on the passenger side but have adjusted mirrors out to about the max and that helps. Tightened the hatch which reduced clunk factor in half.
Should have 3.8 and LSD available as options. For the price, PASM and xenons should be standard on the S like they are on the Carrera S.
PASM - Porsche Active Suspension Management
This active damping system offers continuous adjustment of individual damping forces based on current road conditions and driving style.
The driver can choose from two setup modes, ‘Normal’ and ‘Sport’, using a separate ‘damper’ button on the center console. ‘Normal’ mode is designed for general road driving and circuits with uneven tarmac. ‘Sport’ mode is intended for smoother track surfaces, where the harder settings help eliminate pitch and roll.
In either mode, PASM continuously evaluates the current conditions while automatically selecting the corresponding damper rates from the respective set of mapped values.
A range of sensors are used to monitor the movement of the body under acceleration, braking and cornering maneuvers, as well as on poor road surfaces. The PASM control unit then evaluates this data and modifies the damping force on each individual wheel in accordance with the selected mode. The result is a significant reduction in body movement as well as a better grip on the road.
For example: if ‘Sport’ mode is selected, the suspension is automatically set to a harder damper rating. If the quality of the track surface falls below a certain threshold, the system immediately changes to a softer rating within the ‘Sport’ setup range. When the quality of the tarmac improves once more, PASM automatically returns to the original, harder rating.

LSD - Limited Slip Differential
A limited slip differential (LSD) is a modified or derived type of differential gear arrangement that allows for some difference in rotational velocity of the output shafts, but does not allow the difference in speed to increase beyond a preset amount. In an automobile, such limited slip differentials are sometimes used in place of a standard differential, where they convey certain dynamic advantages, at the expense of greater complexity.
The main advantage of a limited slip differential is found by considering the case of a standard (or "open") differential where one wheel has no contact with the ground at all. In such a case, the contacting wheel will remain stationary, and the non-contacting wheel will rotate freely– the torque transmitted will be equal at both wheels, but will not exceed the threshold of torque needed to move the vehicle, thus the vehicle will remain stationary. In everyday use on typical roads, such a situation is very unlikely, and so a normal differential suffices. For more demanding use however, such as driving off-road, or for high performance vehicles, such a state of affairs is undesirable, and the LSD can be employed to deal with it. By limiting the velocity difference between a pair of driven wheels, useful torque can be transmitted as long as there is some friction available on at least one of the wheels.

I would have to agree with the non-ipod friendly radio being the worst for me. I mean they just sold the 100,000,000th ipod. I guess as typical German engineering...we will just wait a little while and see if this ipod thing catches on before we engineer it in. The xenons that were standard on my Mini S would be nice too.
