Driver side rattle

I'm hearing a rattle just behind me to my left. Anyone know what's making the noise. I've checked the storage compartment and I don't think that's it. Thanks for the help...

Exclamation Me too!

I had this rattle and tried for weeks to track it down. It didn't seem to be temperature dependent or even how bad the road was. I finally brought the car into a dealer and they seemed to have resolved it. The service guy said the tech sprayed some silcone where two plastic panels come together. I wish I had him show me exactly where it was because I think the right side is starting to rattle!
Good luck getting it fixed.

This happened to me as well. The dealer tried the silicone - didn't work. Then tightened the bolt under the seatbelt cover that secures the B pillar - that helped some. Then removed the drivers side rear panel, the one where the speakers are located and added some foam tape - helped some more. But then the noise persisted and finally was solved when he found my engine intake was rubbing against the body and would rattle at different times depending on the attentuation, e.g., idling, etc. Hope this helps.

Yeah I think the noise I'm hearing is coming from the under the seatbelt cover, so I'll check the bolt there first. If that doesn't work then I'll try some of the other suggestions. Thanks for all the good info!!

I had this same noise. Remove the plastic cover over the seatbelt (look in KmanS's articles where he mods the cover so you can see where the tabs are). Use sticky backed felt pieces or rubber pieces and place them on top of the bolts, or where it is obvious that plastic on plastic could be causing the problem. That seemed to do the trick for me. Every once in a while, I will hear the rattle again, but it is MUCH better. I think if I were to remove the cover and add more felt or rubber, I could get it for good.

I'm having this too- I thought it was because I removed the panel to add a harness bar I'm making, but now I'll try the things suggested here.

Thanks

I looked but can't find the article - can you post a link to it?
I have the same little buzz from that area.

I pulled the seat belt cover off last night, tightened all of the screws and bolts and then added some rubber on top of the bolts. Thus far I think this has fixed the problem. Only time will tell, thanks for your help...

brought my cayman in to fix the rattle/creak behind driver side near seatbelt - they actually kept her for an extra day because they had issues locating and stopping the noise. 2 days (and a LOT of felt tape) later we have her back. unfortunately the creak/rattle is still there after driving another 100mi.

are any of these DIY fixes quick and/or easy? i am pretty savy with hammers and circular saws (heh) but am a bit afeared to get close to Lottie with anything abrasive or metal.

*shudder*
