Everytime I turn my steering wheel it squeaks/creeks. It sounds like stairs that are 50 years old.... Do you think it's low on power steering fluid or should I tak it back to the dealer? Does anyone know how to check the fluid?

You know I have that same thing as well.... and my car is brand new...two months old... It has gone away... (I think) I haven't heard it in the last week or so.....I will listen for it today when I leave work... but like I said... I think it went away....
Same here. For the longest I've been hearing this groaning sound when I try to reverse and turn the wheel quite a bit. If I turn the wheel all the way left or right I hear it. Also just yesterday I started hearing what sounds like my brakes squeaking. Don't know what's going on. Took delivery in December and I'm only around 800 miles. Usually drive it on the weekends only.
For starters, take a look at these threads - if you have the steering wheel close to, or at the end of it's travel, you are putting a lot of strain on the power steering system, and it makes this sound... this has been discussed quite a bit in the past, and you should be able to find more threads if you care to search yourself.
Also, r6tanz, please post to the proper forum for your subject. In this case it should have gone into the "complaints" forum. I've moved it there for your convenience.

The reservoir is in the engine compartment. I'd get Porsche to check the fluid level and help to determine if the noise was normal or something in need of repair.
if i move it even a little bit it makes that noise.. And it makes the same noise when I'm driving the car too
In that case, you should stop asking us about it, and get it to the dealer, pronto and have them take a look at it - it could be the that the unit has gone bad - it happens... that's why the warranty is a good thing.

taking it to the dealer tomorrow.... i'll let u know what the problem is
Could it be tires? There were a few reports of Boxsters with harmonic vibrations a couple of years back that they linked to tires. That is a very wild guess by the way.
I just collected my car back from dealer. The cause of the steering squeak was because of a steering tie rod (left side) with damaged bearings. Both were replaced under warranty. Tech attributes it to heat stress, but did say that this month he alone changed the same part for 3 cars already. This is a 911 997 part, and there is no uprated part available at this time.
There is another tiny squeak in the steering which is attributable to a part in the airbag of the steering wheel, and this will be replaced soon while the parts come in.
