Cruise Control problem

Yeah, I do use it sometimes, so stop smirking...

Seriously, my 2007 with 11K has started to drop out of cruise set speed. The indicator stays on, and reset of speed may work for minutes or seconds or untill next stop. My 993 did this later in its life, but surprised to see this at 11K. Didn't find any issues with a search, so anybody had this problem yet?

weird electrical light problem

Okay...this one is getting strange. First noticed the cruise control turning itself off...meaning the speed would drop off while the green dash light remained lit. Then, noticed the two door lights pop on then slowly fade out after a few seconds...like when one shuts the door and turns the key. Except, all this happens while driving, and no, the doors/hatch aren't open and no warning lights come on. Noticed as well that the green cruise indicator blinks as the door lights energize.

I'm 2 hours from the nearest dealer, and usually do all my own work, but not sure where to start on this one. Any ideas?

Thanks!

I noticed you asked this question about a month ago and no one responded so I merged the threads together.

I'm not sure of a fix here besides taking it to a dealer. Of course you run the risk of the dealer not being able to repeat the problem so they will say nothings wrong. With regard to the cruise control issue, does it happen every time you use it? I have never actually used my cruise control so I have no idea if mine behaves in this manner.

The door issue definitely sounds like an electrical issue that needs to be addressed by a dealer. If the doors aren't open, then you really have no choice but to make the 2 hour drive to your local dealer.

Sorry, maybe someone else will chime in that has used their cruise control to assist you.

If I were you, I'd make an appointment for that two hour drive - maybe you usually do your own work, but part of the considerable price you paid for the car is a 4 year warranty - I suggest you use it...
