When I use the drivers side window buttton to raise the passenger window, sometimes it works OK. Other times the window goes up 3/4 of the way, and then back down to 1/4. I then need to hold the lever in continuously to get it to go all the way back up. When I work the window using the passenger lever it works fine.
Is there somethimng I am missing or is my CS acting up? By the way it was sligthly less than 600 miles all of which were put on in the last week (it was a newly purchased 2007).

My car was manufactured in March 2007 and I have only 1,000 km on the clock. Both windows are affected by "ghost", may be 3 - 4 times. I am not disappointed as I never expect it to have the reliability (in respect of parts) as a Japanese car. BTW, quality of MB has been attacked for the past 10 years. I had 3 MB's during the last 10 years but none of the window "ghost" ever happened. I love the CS - nothing is perfect.

my car does the exact same thing. passenger window only.
Sometimes the window regulators need to be "re-taught" where the end of the window closing cycle is. Even though the manual says this happens when the battery has been disconnected, sometimes they just get out of sync.
From the '06 manual:
"Storing end position of the windows:
If the battery is disconnected and reconnected,
the windows will not be raised automatically when
the door is closed.
1. Close the windows with the rocker switch
once.
2. Press front half of rocker switch again to store
the end position of the windows in the control
unit."
Also, the one-touch works differently on the passenger side:
"One-touch operation
1. Press the rocker switch upwards or
downwards to the second stage.
Window moves to its final position.
Press again to stop the window in the desired
position.
One-touch operation for closing the passenger’s
window is available once the window is approximately
half-way closed."
Try this and see if it solves the problem - if not, I'd take it into the dealer and see if the regulator needs to be replaced under warranty.

It sounds like one of your side windows is jamming but it thinks that something is caught in it whilst it is being raised. There is a safety feature to lower the window automatically if it thinks that something is caught in it.
It judges this by the electric current load on the motor. Your dealer will probably have to fix the mechanism.
Re-teaching the window where the "top" is worked. The problem seems to be solved. Thanks for the insight. These forums are great sources of valuable information. Much appreaciated.
Thanks, brad. Sorry to say that there is a lot in the manual that I have not read. I'm glad to say that the good people on this forum teach me something every day.
I was just living with the window "problem". Now I know what's going on.

Agreed. I've had the dealer "fix" the "window" and the "passenger seat" warnings, both of which were discussed in the manual!
