Question Does your brake pedal do this?

2006 CS Tip. I am trying to figure out if this condition is normal. When I had the car services the service manager said itwas normal, but i don't remember my car doing this when I first got it.

In general it feels like my brake pedal shifts from left to right slightly. When i place my foot on the brake pedal and try to "slide" my foot to the left or right (without lifting my foot off the pedal) the brake pedal slides a little bit to the left or to the right (the pedal itself probably travels left or right somewhere around 1/8 an inch ). It is actually the entire push rod that is shifting (not the connection between the brake pedal and the push rod). Its not a huge amount but its enough to be annoying. So basically my entire push rod can slightly move from right to left. It almost seems like whatever the pushrod is connected to (in the portion that goes outside of the cabin area) is not "tight".

Can anyone confirm that there CS does this or confirm that it doesn't do this. The more repsonses the better. Secondly is this a safety concern or does it not matter (not sure what means the push rod is connected, i.e bolt .. etc).
