suction cup marks on rear hatch?

I have 4 round marks on the glass of my rear hatch about 3" in diameter. These marks only show up when I leave the car outside overnight and there is a buildup of condensation. Most of the time I never see the marks. When I picked up my car from the dealer I only noticed 1, but I figured that I could clean it off. So far I have not been able to get them off with normal glass cleaner. I will try alcohol and acetone next. I am assuming that they are suction cup marks from the installation at the factory. The are also signs of some type of liquid running down towards the wing from these marks.

Has anyone else seen these marks?

Check out this thread -

At the risk of opening another cleaning windows thread.

We have been talking about it for a few days. It's normal. We're just not sure how to get rid of the marks.

Sounds reasonable. I've had good luck with Citra-Solv as a degreaser.

Octupus. That's what you are seeing. Really big ones with only four tentacles. They're trying to steal the Cayman. They get worse at night when there's dew out and they come out of the sea. Or if you read Jules Verne late at night. This might even be true.

It is worse than you think. Those are just four of the many suction cups on ONE OF HIS HUGE TENTACLES,

AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the heads up Dave. Like usual, your insight is invaluable. I will watch out for them from now on. You will know it has reached epidemic levels if I start seeing them on my windows in the dry Western Canadian climate. Or worse - in the winter!!!!! AAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!
