Intake delay

do you guys experience hesitation from blipping the gas pedal to the engine actually revving up?
A problem especially when trying to heel/toe.
If so then could it be b/c of the length of the intake? or is it my problem only?

My guess is drive-by-wire delay. My old A4 (2000...DBW) had this while my current A4 (1998...NDBW) has much faster response with no delay. I don't really notice it on my Cayman......but this could be what you are describing.

I would like to blame it on the electronic throttle but really, electronics can be made really fast. I'd really like a real explanation on the throttle delay felt on today's cars. In fact, throttle mapping can easily bias towards low pedal angle and eliminate the throttle delay totally. Is that the flywheel? Is it by design?

The F430, R8 has NO THROTTLE DELAY whatsoever.

By design? Totally possible.

Whether deliberate or not, I know of many cars that suffer from this issue. My A4 being what I have had personal experience with. Either way....it sucks.

I noticed this when I first had the car. I've adjusted my driving style by pushing the throttle further than you would on other cars, when heeling and toeing, and it seems to work.

Not sure if this has anything to do with it, but if you try and accelerate and brake at the same time, (drying the brakes after a wash/puddle) the power is cut. Might have an effect on heel/toeing.
