Clutch Stiction?

Weird issue developing with my CS. When letting out the clutch pedal, I notice stiction at the clutch pedal. This feels like an intermittent increase in the friction of something (?) as the clutch pedal is let out. Others might describe it as a vibration felt at the clutch pedal, but no where else.

This is not present with the engine off, present at idle, and worse with increasing revs. There is no difficulty disengaging/engaging the clutch smoothly, no obvious new driveline vibration, and no issue with engaging gears.

What bothers me is that it is getting slightly worse day by day. The car has had the Porsche clutch campaign performed (which I think on my car was a new spring for the slave cylinder?). I don't know if the flywheel bolts were checked. The car has about 3200 miles.

Any thoughts?

If you think it's really strange, and it's getting noticeably worse by the day - get it into the dealer, pronto.

Good advice, of course. I was posting for two reasons:

1) I was hoping some other CS (and perhaps C--I'm not sure if the clutch is the same) owners would go out, jump in their cars, and see if this is "typical".

2) I had a master BMW tech (friend) feel the issue tonight, and he agrees that it is weird. He has little experience with P-cars, and is not sure if it is a problem or just excellent transmission of mechanical feedback and the increased sensation is the clutch "breaking in" (though he states that usually that happens in the first several hundred miles). I don't particularly want to waste the dealers time (nor look like an idiot) so I was hoping for some theories on what it might or might not be.

Allowing that, I would imagine a trip to the dealer is in my future.

The campaign should have replaced the slave cylinder. Take your car in. It is not typical. If your pedal sticks to the floor and won't come back up...that is a sure sign. Also, look under your car in the mid-rear for fluid on the floor.

The 5 speeds have a different set-up and have had no issues as far as I know.

Well, it's hard to diagnose over the Internet, of course... but there have been problems with '07s and there seems to be little rhyme or reason as to the mileage when it happens, and it's happened in rare occasions more than once to the same car. The key for me was that you said it was changing, and for the worse in your opinion - in that case, I wouldn't wait - you shouldn't worry you'll look like an idiot - it's a somewhat expensive piece of machinery - have it looked at it you think it's not working right.
