Not really a complaint as much as an observation...but I have noticed that FM stations dont come through as clear as they did in my Audi or my wifes Nissan. The range seems to be shorter too. I know.....i didnt buy the car to listen to FM radio. Like i said just an observation. I usually listen to a CD and hopefully in the future my ipod, once denison gets their icelink done. I only listen to FM in the morning on my way to work...johnboy and billy. after 10 years i think i am officially a redneck now.
I have the base radio and no problems here, I can get FM stations from 60 plus miles away, then again, I live where the world is flat and folk holler from county to county...
Picking up FM stations has all to do with the size and orientation of the antenna. No doubt the Cayman has a smaller antenna, one that is positioned at a different angle than does a sedan.
Reception is not good on mine either. My CayenneS was the same. My 993 was pretty good. My 944 was excellent. Kaiser- the radio can be quirky - it turned on one day when I got into the car. I had various anomolies in my CayenneS over 3 years. Looks like the Cayman could be the same...
You know...Iagree. My FM stations are not as strong as my TL. Neither has an external antenna. The same station in both cars will crackle sooner/more in the Cayman.
Oh, well....

It seems to be the consensus here. Mine doesn't have very good reception either but man when a CD is in the thing it sounds damn good. A helluva lot better than my '02 M3 I had.I suppose Bose makes many different levels of car audio systems because I find the one in my Cayman S a helluva lot better (in terms of sound) than the one in the C6 Vette. Anybody know this to be fact?
Not sure about you guys stateside, but I'm sure that when I ordered I was given the option of a better external ariel for FM reception - did anyone else see this?
I agree the reception is poorer than my previous Audi, but only slightly.
