6000 miles? And a checkup?

Hi,

I've been getting a message on my 07 CS that I need to bring it in for scheduled service, but it only has 6000 miles.

Any ideas?

Thanks

How long have you had it? For 2006 and 2007 models, the service reminder operates off of 2yr/20,000 mile benchmark; whichever comes first. So if you have a 2006 or a 2007 that you got in late 2006 with 6000 miles, the car is going to remind you for service because the 2 years has elapsed or is about to.

So the question is, how long have you had your car?

I have the exact same situation. I have an 07 CS, which will be one year old on May 25 and has about 5500 miles on it. Service indicator displayed service due in 21 days yesterday.

Did you guys buy your cars off the lot? Do you know when your in-service dates are?

I would venture a guess that the 2 year clock starts ticking from the build date. Dealer would have to reset service reminder for it to start from in-service date and I don't know why they would do that. They want you to come in and spend moeny on oil and brake fluid changes ASAP. Find a local friend with Durametric software and they can reset the service reminder for you.

Exactly it, they just reset the service reminder at the dealer.

Mine is an 07 S and it had a build date of March 07 and I've got the same thing. I'm down to 10 days.
