Lost confidence in my Cayman S, hope no problems again

Got my CS took it for a Mt ride, my very first ride, ended up taking 2 gallons of coolant,on a 80 mile drive, mechanic found out a damaged hose and clamp.
All this plus radiator flush, bleed, parts and coolant cost $640.

Dealer will take care of it.

Car only has 9,250 miles, it shouldnt have this kind of problems

Now I have the car again , hope I dont have any problems on my second Sunday drive and I get confident with my car again.

I have been on this mt roads many many times with my Boxster and no problems, its just turn after turn mostly second gear and third a couple of times.
Uphill for 15 miles.

The perfect road for this type of car.

Give us a break. You have lost confidence in Your CS over a damaged hose???.That could happen to any car regardless of brand or model. You should feel very fortunate to own such a totally fine and reliable auto instead of whinning over a busted hose.Besides the dealer took care of it. What more do you expect???

Don't worry too much over it. Things happen and the car is fine now.

My Cayman threw a check engine light (cylinder bank misfire) at 700 miles and scared the hell out of me stumbling on the highway. Plugs were examined and a fresh tank of gas took care of it.

2300 miles later, no issues. But it took a few drives to regain my "confidence".

What was the cause? There is actully a service campaign on some Caymans for the way one of the hoses can rub in the engine compartment and produce a problem, I wonder if yours was one of them and if you had ever had the service campaign done?

Mechanic said hose was damaged and clamp not properly closed and also that it seemed that someone had worked on it before.

Im not a whiner but I paid a lot of money for this car $75,000 including shipping , and taxes to import in Costa Rica, and this happens on my very first drive.

At least the dealer is paying for the repair.

Thats satisfactory reliability. I expect a car of this stature to be trouble free (with exception to servicing/tires/brake pads etc..) till at least 45000 miles.

I must be missing something here. I didn't realize that there were high performance sports cars out there that go 45,000+ miles with no service issues other than brake pads and tires(maybe an oil change). What are these cars? Jaguars?MGs? Land rovers? Please let me know so I can sell this POS Cayman and buy something worth having.
