I went to pull out of my garage to go out to dinner last night and as I did my cayman acted like the brakes were frozen . As I let out the clutch there was a loud pop that sounded like metal broke. The car then drove o.k. but there is a scraping sound coming from somewhere as I am driving. I called the dealer and they cannot take the car in service for a week because I do not have an appointment. I have parked the car for now but I am concerned because of the low mileage driven so far (9000) . What do you think happened??Thanks
I'd call Porsche roadside, included as a part of your warranty and have them flatbed it to the dealer. In such a case, Porsche covers you with a loaner car or rental so you're not inconvenienced without a vehicle. Dealing with PCNA directly might get you some better service if the dealer is reluctant.

No need for the roadside assistance...
Did you wash your car, or otherwise get the rotors wet (like rain), and then park it in the garage and it dried? What happened is the rotors rust over on the braking surface when they dry-out, and the pads stick to the rotors via the rust - the scraping you heard is the rust being scraped off the rotors by the pads - two blocks of normal driving, and it's all gone.
This is completely normal.

i saw a completed rusted brake disc of a Cayenne S the other day, God how did they let that happen ?
surely its not normal, i mean i know that there is no point in coating the disc since its going get burned off the the first time they brake, but god this kind of rusting never happens on my old VW Santana, and i treat that car like dirt.
maybe porsche brake discs are more suseptiable to this rusting.

You right. The brembos are the best in the biz, and like you say, one lap around the block will make them shine and gleen and all will be well in the land of the red calipers..
Thanks for the feedback guys. See you in Atlanta in October!

The issue of not having an appointment so service cannot be rendered really irks me. Cars break down unexpectedly and sometimes need emergency service. Dealers should (and some do) make exceptions in these cases. This happened to me with My Mercedes years back. The car was 3 weeks old and developed a serious leak from a seal. I took it to the dealer and was treated like a 2nd class citizen because I did not make an appointment. I told the dealer and Mercedes themselves, the next time I will consult with my crystal ball about what is going to break and schedule an appointment in advance.
I do understand the benfits of making appointments, but emergencies can and do happen and we need our cars repaired.
Mercedes dealership's are horrible, i had a friend who had a problem with the crankshaft in the engine, and you know what they said !? the crankshaft is not covered in the engine warrenty !!?
i think i'd rather walk then get a Mercedes, ppl get angry after they buy a Merc...

Nope. Normal biproduct of not using the car.

started of with little spots and now its the whole disc.
Using any type of wheel cleaner will make this worst.
Exact same thing happened to me, but have a tiptronic and only 1800 miles. Thought it may have been rock in caliper, but this situation sounds nearly identical. It cleared after a block or two, but after driving a couple of miles, I braked hard to avoid an obstacle. The sound started again for a few yards, then gone and not returned to this date (occured on May 9th). Thanks to all for the information.
