Almost blew my left eardrum when starting the car

Has anyone else experienced a full volume screetch out of the left front speaker for no reason at all? After turning the car off then back on 2 hours later I nearly lost my left eardrum. At 0 volume no noise. At +1 full blown screetching. Left side. Turning the car on and off a couple of times didn't fix it. Then a 10 minute drive, turning the car off, and restart 1/2 hour later everything is working fine. Great, looks like it is going in again. Well at least the spring return on my ebrake will finally get fixed as it snapped.

Do you have Bose? I've heard of strange noise issues with the Bose system over the years in Caymans and also other Porsche models.

It's happened a few times with me too. Dealer can't figure out what's wrong with it. I think it could be some wierd feedback from the mike in the bose system.

Yes I have bose. And come to think of it, I think I turned on the auto sound changer thingy. That might have been the problem. It goes off tomorrow.

Same thing used to happen to me. Dealer replaced PCM (with nav) and now it doesn't do that anymore.

Had exact same issue w/ Bose system, took it to dealer (under warranty) and they replaced left door speaker, said it had blown out, problem went away

Funny, but now I CAN hear my left side speakers. I always thought the pillar got in the way before. Now I hear things on the left that I never could in my music before. I bet I have an amp issue. I'll wait for it to happen again and get it replaced.
