Speedometer issue

I have noticed something strange with the speedometer recently. When the engine is on and the gear is neutral the speedometer needle seems to be going up a little bit. I'am not pushing the gas pedal and still the engine seems to be revving up a little bit. Also the engine sounds like it is revving when the car is in neutral. Does anyone know if this is normal?

I believe you are referring to tachometer, not the speedometer... in that case I believe it is normal.

depends on the state of the engine, usually a engine ticks over higher when its started from cold.

its engine managements way to warming up the car i think.

Mine does this sometimes too. But most of the time my idle is solid and consistent.
