Engine Vibration When Cold

Hi everyone,

I have a manual 2006 Cayman S, with about 18,000km (~11,00mi).

Every morning for about the first five minutes after start, the car makes a strange, high-pitched vibrational sound. This tends to happen when slowing down (i.e. off the accelarator, but not braking).

I took my OPC mechanic for a drive around the block on a cold morning, and luckily he heard this vibration. He thought that perhaps it could be a problem with one/some of the power steering cables.

I read a similar problem by Apsinkus, but feel that this could be a different issue, as where I live, South Australia, morning temperatures rarely fall below 10 degrees celcius.

My car is due to be serviced this week, so I will get them to try to source the problem.

I will let you all know as soon as I hear anything!
