After 5,000 mile, car would not enage 1st

I can not get into first gear or reverse after I drove my car back home from lunch. I don't know what's wrong. I will try to get to the dealer and have them take a look at my transmission. Since about 3 months ago, my first gear was very hard to get engage. I felt like having carpal tunnel syndrome.

Perhaps your car is among the TSB that Porsche put out about faulty slave cylinders. Since your car is not in the registry and can't tell you if it is among the affected but getting it to the dealer is the smart thing to do. They should be able to sort out the issue.

It could also be a loose pressure plate bolt and in any case the dealer can take care of it for you. Both are a one day fix.

If the other gears can be engaged without problem it is most likely a problem with the shift linkage adjustment and not the clutch. Mid-engined cars are very sensitive to linkage alingment. I had a similar issue with my Pantera that was easily adjusted. Thank fully it has not happened to my CS as the accessability to the linkage is not the same as on the Pantera.
