I've only allowed the fuel to get close to empty a couple of times in the 9K miles since I've owned the car. Seems to me when the fuel is low (within the red "warning" zone) that the engine idles a little rough. I'm imagining there could be a little moisture in the tank that doesn't make it into the outlet until the level gets low. Anyone else experience this? Seems like fuel conditioner should absorb any moisture in the fuel and would be an easy fix.

Thoughts?

I can't say that I ever get that low on fuel so I can't tell you how it idles but generally I don't let it go below quarter tank because of sediment. (not to mention I'm afraid to get stuck somewhere and I'd have to leave to car on the road while I run to the nearest gas station. )

I've gotten down into the warning area quite a few times on some long trips, but never experienced this problem.

It's possible this is in your head. I imagine all sorts of symptoms when my fuel is getting dangerously low
