Power Window Issue

My 2007 started having a weird intermittent problem. Upon raising it, the window went up 3/4 of the way stopped and then backed down about 4 inches. It did this numerous times. I tried the reset, (not sure if I did that right) by closing the window all the way, then holding the switch up for a second. Visa versa in the down position. The window was not dirty inside or out. I cleaned the rubber channels were the glass rides and it seems to be better. I recently waxed the car but I did not see any wax near the window or seals. Also the motor sound on the drivers door sounds perfectly steady during window operation. The passenger side has a very slight drop in sound mid way. This is very slight. Any Ideas? I thought I read months back someone with a similar problem.

I hate to say it, but it might be time to visit the dealer. It sounds like you've already tried the normal DIY steps.

Sometimes disconnecting the battery for ten minutes or longer will solve electronic gremlins. After reconnecting follow the reset procedure in the Manual. Might be worth the effort to try (assuming that you battery has not been disconnected before this started - then that could be the reason it began). Let us know what happens.

I had a problem on my 06 CS where if I tried to raise the passenger window using the one touch it would go half way up and then reverse. I could close it by holding down the button. After this happened for a while I started having a problem where when I lowered the window it would start off okay but then start to struggle as it got past half way. I took it to the dealer and they replaced the window controller. I have not had the problem since, I now have a slight rattle which I need to get fixed but the window is fine.

Same exact thing happens to me very very occasionally. I just forget about it. Sorry I can't be of any real help, but if anyone knows exactly what the problem is, I would be very interested as well.

If you search "Passenger window ghost" on this forum many people reported this issue. It seems to be a common problem. I will keep you posted if it gets worse and I have to visit the dealer. No one reported a fix???

Mine had the problem, the rubber seal at the back of the door split, where the window goes into the door. When you would move the window the seal would roll up and jam the window. The dealer replaced the seal.

wow, I've had my '08 CS for just 2 weeks and this has happened to me at least 3 or 4 times. I only roll the passeneger side window all the way up with A/C or all the way open. I know it's not a dirty window or worn out parts. I'm sort of glad it's a known problem, so I'll keep an eye on it. It's never happened on the drivers side.

This problem has been seen on MB's like my S. I think it is a bit too much friction/sensor too sensitive for the window obstruction safety system. Lubing the tracks will probably make it go away.

I was constantly having this problem; the dealer "adjusted the window angle" and it seems to be ok so far...
