Oil/Grease on Inside Door Windows

After keeping the windows down for a period during a short drive, I noticed a large smear on the insides of both the drivers and passenger's windows. At first I thought it was moisture as we had a rain earlier in the day but then realized that it wasn't water but some sort of grease or oil.

Anyone have this?

It has been driving me crazy. I'm not sure what to do about it. I suppose I'll just keep cleaning them and hope I get all that goop off.

From past experience with a 350Z there was a window lift motor that was spiewing its grease onto the window. I don't know if a replacement or shield was the fix but, they nailed via a tech bull. I hope my dealer gets it on this as well.

hmmm, have not had this issue at all. Does sound like a fault somewhere with the window motor.

Same problem - verticalstreaks, almost exclusively on the outside of the window - makes me feel like being in jail - But what a nice jail.

I have the same problem - one streak about 1" wide near the rear of the window. But I've had a similar problem in other cars - same position, actually - so I think it must be common. I tend to wash my croc more than I should (my neighbors think I'm nuts), so the streak isn't there for long...

I didn't have this problem at first. But with the nice weather lately I've started keeping my windows down more. Also, it's been raining for the last 3 days on and off, which appears to make matters worse. Ijust talked to the dealer about this yesterday. The tech said to bring the car in to have it fixed. Apparently, there is a felt pad that keeps the window pressed against the door when it's down. I guess to avoid rattling. He said this felt pad got contaminated and needs to be R2'd.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">Unfortunately, Saturday, the day after I got the Cayman back from service, the window streaks re-appeared and they are worse (along with the loose 2”x 4” in the rear trunk)!
