Front luggage compartment light

OK, before y'all think I'm lazy, I did look for the answer to my Q in the owner's manual.

How do you make the front lug. cmprtmt. light illuminate? I tried everything this evening and couldn't do it. Of course the bulb may be burned out, but that's too easy.

I remember on my last P-car there was some trick to it ... some interior switch or something.

Anyone know how to get that light on???

No special trick that I know of, mine just comes on when I open the compartment.

The neat thing about using the PDF owners manual (a copy is in files section) is that it can be searched.

See page 70 for drawing.

Switching on lights

Switch position 1.
Switch on driver’s side:

interior lights on driver’s side, footwell and luggage
compartment lights on.

Switch on passenger’s side:

reading light on passenger’s side on.

Switching off lights

Switch position 2.
Switch on driver’s side:

interior lights on driver’s side, footwell and luggage
compartment lights off.

Switch on passenger’s side:

reading light on passenger’s side off.

Switching lights on and off automatically

f
Switch position 0.
Lights are switched on
lid is unlocked or opened or when the ignition
key is withdrawn from the ignition lock.
when a door or rear
The lights are switched off
approx. 2 minutes after the door is closed.
The lights go out immediately as soon as the
ignition key is inserted in the ignition lock or
the vehicle is locked.

Thanks, Santa Fe, I should have been able to find that. Still doesn't work ... bad bulb no doubt.
